I believe there's been a recent update which creates 'leafless' felled trees. What I have noticed is that if I chop a tree down it still has the old graphic with all the leaves, but if I pack the dirt of the tile that it is on, it not only changes to the new leafless model but it changes position quite dramatically. Bit odd :-)

It must be a settings issue, all of the trees I chop are immediately leafless.

I use somewhat low settings (older computer) and my fallen trees have no leaves: I don' These are pine but I get the same with Oak, Chestnut, Birch and regardless of season. No leaves or branches just a long felled tree with no foliage. Also, Rheyan says she also gets leafless/branchless tree as as soon as she packs the ground which makes it sound like ... a settings issue. EDIT: Retro says the new models already show in normal client if you relog or pick up and drop the tree, but I get them as soon as I fell them, so again it seems to be ... a settings issue. I have animations off and perhaps it is that. I bypass the stage with branches swaying and dust swirling as the tree crashes down, and immediately transition to the static fallen model, which Rheyan also gets but only by moving the tree or packing the earth.
No idea why a brand new rendering engine is needed to make that final transition though. She apparently also misses out on the joys of horses who can gracefully iceskate everywhere even in summer.
