How to run multiple WU clients without killing Steam: I am not sure how people are doing this now but I came across the following process recently and it works perfectly All you need to do this is Notepad (or other text file editor) 1, Go to you wurmlauncher directory (the default looks something like this C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Wurm Unlimited\WurmLauncher). 2, Open Notepad and type 366220 and then save the document as steam_appid.txt inside the WurmLauncher directory shown above 3, Right click WurmLauncher.exe (the file with the W icon) and create shortcut. 4, Place shortcut on desktop. 5, ALWAYS run Wurm Unlimted from Steam the first time you start your computer 6, For subsequent Wurm Unlimited Clients, use the Shortcut you created in Steps 3 and 4. If this doesn't work, check the following - You cannot launch the extra instances through Steam or through a taskbar pin/etc - use the Shortcut I mention above - Make sure you saved the file named exactly as follows:- C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Wurm Unlimited\WurmLauncher\steam_appid.txt (your directory path may be different but the last bit should be the same) - Make sure the text file you created has 366220 in it ONLY

even easier -- COPY the file steam_appid.txt already in your WurmServerLauncher folder, PASTE a copy into the Wurmlauncher folder. I make a shortcut to the client on my Start menu and it always launches fine from there. Apparently there are issues with shortcuts on other locations.
