After the discussion in Discord this morning I have ideas for two community events:
Event 1 Cute little troll chases Pazza around. Players collect the 'living crap' that is scared out of Pazza. Living Crap can be used like 'wild growth' to advance growth of stuff - but it decays really, really quickly unless carried by a player in their inventory or backpack. (so has to be picked up quickly which means players have to run around after Pazza and the troll) Pazza (or whichever player has agreed to getting chased by the troll) gets a reward of some kind for playing along and running away from the troll. In my mind, this all happens to the Benny Hill chase music...
Event 2 Looting a troll den gives a small chance of finding a baby troll. If baby troll is taken to the public event area and then fed copious amounts of alcohol (activate barrel of alcohol, right click troll baby), that initiates the event as the irate troll family storms in to rescue beloved trollette. If the whole troll family is taken out by the community then baby troll unfortunately dies from acute alcohol poisoning and leaves it's baby troll teeth as high quality diamonds? Perhaps the person who places the baby troll and the person who gives it the alcohol could get a reward based on how many players are present when the event is initiated - so virtually nothing if it's just a dozen or less people up to something fairly spectacular if most of the community are there?
I have no idea if any of that is even possible - but I'm sure Pazza will appreciate the helpful intent of my suggestions. Eh Pazza?

I don't feel like this is something i could implement unless someone feeds ME copious amounts of alcohol...
