The time has finally come, after many long years of suffering...
disclaimer: its only been a couple weeks. The ravenous and wicked drake, clad in sickly ebon scales, devoured our men and burned our homes! He sat in spawn and scared off countless young adventurers! He bit me in the arm deadly hard, hurting it! No more shall we be terrorized by that jerk! We shall grab our pitchforks and torches and other pointy objects and we will go over there and slap him around!

The hunt will begin April 8th, 2017, at approximately 12:00 EST / 09:00 PST / 16:00 UTC We meet at Devil's Docks at the mouth of Devil's Cauldron, where the beast was last seen.
We'll wait about 30 or so minutes for stragglers, but after that, if ya snooze, ya lose!

I'm looking forward to finally putting an end to this dragon's reign of terror over our lands of Walden.
To start planning ahead a bit, have we decided who will be in charge of tanking this beast? I think it would also be beneficial to appoint a couple of designated healers to make sure the tank stays alive and to avoid confusion on who should be casting light of Fo and when. The rest of us could link with these main healers. It probably would be good to have at least one person on point to cast mass stamina so we don't all have to back out of the fight to recover stamina, thus losing any focus we've gained.
A couple additional notes, for anyone who doesn't already know, make sure to bring a two-handed weapon with dragon's demise cast upon it. Make sure to start focusing in combat as soon as you're able to, and keep doing so until you reach, "You feel supernatural. Invincible!" People should not take hell horses with them to the event, in case people aren't aware, hell horses can eat corpses, and thus we will end up losing the opportunity to butcher the dragon if they end up taking a bite out of it before we are able to butcher it.

For tanking i'd suggest either myself or saidin. We both got high ql seryl/ada plate sets. I can hold myself alive for a while with drain life but only have aggro stance trained. Saidin was working on a more defensive setup i think. Also don't know what his meditation path is, mine love which isn't that useful.
Keep in mind that both Heal and Light Of Fo are affected by and create healing resistance debuffs nowadays.
Edit: Or if one of the people that worked on Path of Insanity wants to tank i could lend them my plate set for the fight.

I'm not familiar with this healing resistance debuff. I'm assuming that the more you're healed by those two spells the more resistant you become to the healing effects each time? Is it still worth even using Heal and Light of Fo? Would using cure instead be a better alternative?

I 100% sure about the mechanics, but yeah, more or less. Each time one of those heals a player, they get a stacking debuff that makes healing him harder. The debuff give a failure chance to those 2 spells when healing that player. I don't think there are partial resists, so the heal either works or fails completely. Is it still worth even using Heal and Light of Fo? Would using cure instead be a better alternative? Cure spells are a lot harder to use in hectic combat. Honestly i don't know, i haven't been to any "serious" unique hunts since that change made it into the game. Added: Here's a discussion thread about it from WO from the time it was added over there: forum.wurmonline.com/index.php?/topic/146305-i-need-to-know-this-about-fo-heal/

From our little hunting trip yesterday i don't think we'll have any problem taking this dragon down if enough people show up. We had 6 somewhat decently geared and skilled players and were able to kill a champ blue drake, troll king, green dragon and a diseased black dragon... (that was a complete joke, probably the diseased status took down his CR/DR way down). We also tried a red one but it kicked our asses I'm currently considering bumping up the difficulty on drakes, and possibly dragons too and buffing the amount of scale/hide they give out. But i'll wait with that until after the event and consider how it goes into my decision.

One of my biggest fears about the event is having so many people that we all only get a 0.01 weight dragon hide/scale ),: And yeah, me and 3 others did a green dragon in a couple minutes with minimal difficulty. Only thing we lost was my shirt. Maybe boosting the difficulty would help a bit to make it more of an event and less of a 'show up and maybe get a hit before it dies then go back to daily routine'.

Was it a green dragon or hatchling? I thought it was a hatchling (aka drake).
Drakes definitely need a buff. I want to see how the dragon event goes before doing anything (and don't want to overdo it and get everyone killed).
In terms of drops: It's not meant for it to drop enough for everyone to be able to make something out of it. If people want to pool their scale they will probably be able to get 1 full set out of it right now, maybe 2 if i buff it.

Went down really easily. Think green is supposed to be the easiest, though. But still.
